..updating:

After installing the [AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control Center for HP Pavilion - 15z-ab100 CTO (SP72773)], everything seemed to work properly but suddenly i realized i can't find the catalyst control center anywhere.

After using "amdcleanuputility" I installed the AMD graphics driver version 17.7.2  that someone confirmed working on HP Pavilion 15-ab160no series and now everything seems to work better. I have control over the graphics and HDCP is working too. HDCP not working was the main issue in my case because i need the HDMI-output in various places with lots of different displays and tv-sets.

I downloaded the AMD Crimson -install package from https://www.guru3d.com/download/amd-radeon-software-crimson-relive-17-7-2-driver-download/

Towards a better future - Cheers!

..more info about my situation:

Now the Crimson software stopped working. I tried to tweak the graphics but got an error message saying: Can't find any installed graphics drivers or AMD drivers.

Determined to get this laptop working in my favor, i again used the "amdcleanuputility" and courageously installed "win10-64bit-radeon-software-adrenalin-edition-18.9.3-oct5" from AMD website. So far this seems to work but i will keep y'all informed about my situation with this piece-of-old(ish)-HP-hardware. 😄

Let's hope for the best and fear for the worst,

Elias 😃
