HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (4U8D6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,
I am trying to restore my HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (Product ID: 4U8D6AV). I created the HP Recovery USB multiple times, both on my laptop and on another Windows PC, but the recovery always fails at the same point.

During installation, the system shows internal HP script errors and triggers CTO Panic. The logs show:

  • PASS2_BBVClean_BBApps.log → FAILED

  • WallpaperOk.log → RESULT=FAILED

  • ChkError.cmd.FAILURE.flg created

  • System then runs PANIC.cmd and reboots instead of finishing Windows setup.

The recovery process never completes.

I also tried different USB drives and USB ports, but the issue is consistent. It appears that an HP pre-install component fails, causing the entire recovery to abort.

How can I fix this, or is there an updated recovery image available for this model?

Thank you.

Hi @Aniket33

You must perform a clean installation of Windows. You cannot recover using the USB drive you created because there are currently damaged files in Windows (cannot be recovered).
