So I had wiped the drives of this laptop that my friend gave me, and since it had the Windows XP sticker on it, I'd figured it'd be best to install Windows XP on it again. Of course, my friend lost the Driver CDs, so I'm going to need some drivers to get it up and running properly.
The product sticker states that the S/N is: [edited] and the P/N is: ET831UA#ABA.
There appears to be another model number on the sticker: dv8210us
If there aren't any XP drivers available, I'll probably upgrade to Windows 7 if this computer supports the OS.

Hard to find but there is actually a Windows XP driver page still out there for that model and a Vista driver page with drivers that could be used on Windows 7. It will run WIndows 7 and I would not advise running XP on any computer that will be exposed to the internet. Even Vista would be better (more secure):

Thank you, I will install the drivers and test to make sure everything works, then I'll upgrade to Windows 7. I'm going to also see if I can find a new battery (which I doubt I'll find.) If the battery is in the system while powered on, it shuts off the system after a few moments. Heat doesn't seem to be a problem with this system so far, even though I've read that it's a widespread issue. Thank you Again!

You can get a battery for almost anything:
