I tired resetting it, I tired following the steps on the support for, I tried going back to my old ram, resetting with and without the battery

I tired one ram stick at a time and nothing seems to help

Any suggestions?

Hi @Yaya211,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your HP Pavilion Laptop after the RAM upgrade. It can be frustrating when such upgrades lead to unexpected issues, but I'm here to help.

  • When you hear the one beep, does it repeat in a pattern, or is it a single beep followed by silence? (This can indicate specific errors based on HP's beep codes.)
  • Did you ensure that the new RAM sticks are compatible with your laptop model (e.g., same DDR generation, speed, and voltage)?

Let's try these steps.

Check the Compatibility of the RAM:

  • Confirm that the RAM's specifications (DDR4, speed, and voltage) match your laptop's requirements. Incompatible RAM can prevent the system from booting.

Inspect RAM Seating:

  • Remove the RAM and carefully reinsert it into the slots, ensuring it's fully seated. Sometimes, uneven pressure can cause a poor connection.

Try Clearing the CMOS:

  • Disconnect the power adapter and battery. Hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to clear residual charge. Reconnect the original RAM and try powering on the laptop.

Test RAM Sticks One at a Time:

  • Insert one stick of RAM (new or old) into the first slot and try powering on the laptop. If it doesn’t work, test the same stick in the second slot. Repeat with the other RAM stick.

Inspect for Physical Damage:

  • Examine the RAM sticks and motherboard slots for signs of damage, dust, or debris. Use compressed air to clean the slots gently.
  • If possible, test the new RAM in another compatible device or test a different known-good RAM stick in your laptop.

If the issue persists and the beep pattern suggests a hardware fault, it could be a motherboard issue caused by the new RAM or a static charge during installation.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
