HP Pavilion Notebook 17-g192dx

Recently, the USB 2.0 port stopped recognizing my mouse or keyboard. Whenever I plugged them in, I get the "Device Descriptor Request Failed". The devices seem to be fine themselves. If I plug them into any other port they work fine. If I plug any other device into into that port, such as a phone, thumb drive or external HD, those devices work just fine, so the port itself doesn't seem to be a problem.

I have done the things listed at other sites that were recommended, made it so Win couldn't turn off the port, uninstall / reinstall the drivers, etc. At times these things helped, but then the problem would come back and now they aren't helping. Yet all the other devices are still working just fine in that port.

Anybody have any insight?
