Product: HP Pavilion Notebook

Hi

I have a problem with Windows - will not start. I got  a message -  Windows fielded  to start. A recent hardware of software change might  cause.  Info: the Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors. To fix the problem I have to reinstall the Windows. I haven't got the disc. and to contact the manufacturer. What should I do. 

My other question is if I reinstall the Windows will I loos everything?  I hope you can help me!
