I currently have an HP Pavilion M6 entertainment notebook and I would like to know if it's windows 10 compatible before I upgrade or attempt to do so.
It's currently running windows 7 but with MSoft ending support for windows 7 i dont want to end up sitting with a bricked device.
i know they said laptops after 2013 are okay to upgrade, but I can't find the manufacture date for this one
any information would be great

It's probably not a good idea to upgrade to W10 for a few reasons...
1. The AMD/Intel switchable graphics may not work since there are no W10 drivers for that custom configuration.
2. The IDT audio may not work on W10. You can try this driver and restart the PC if that happens to you.
3. Some model wifi adapters from that era don't work well with W10.
Look at the serial number of your notebook.
The 4th, 5th, and 6th characters will be numbers.
The 4th being the year of manufacture, and the 5th and 6th being the calendar week of manufacture.
There is no W10 driver support from HP for PC's manufactured prior to August of 2013.
So, if you want to give it a try, just make sure that you have a way to go back to W7 in case W10 doesn't work for you as expected.
With the odds of 100% success not in your favor, I certainly would not pay the $139.00 to upgrade to W10.
There may still be a way to get the free upgrade, even though it ended a long time ago.
