@sandytechy20
Good morning,
I am sorry to bother you again, but my PC is having again the battery problems, with the same modalities as last time.
After I updated the BIOS it worked fine for more than two weeks, but last week it started again to give me exactly the same problem with the black screen and the red battery picture.
Again, I doubt that is an actual battery or charging problem: when it works it can go for the whole day without any problem at all, but from time to time, even when on, the charging led flashes red and the battery icon shows a blinking red sign , "asking" immediate charging...but within a couple of minutes the battery is again at 100%. So, again, I believe is more a software than a hardware problem.
Do you perhaps know any other method to solve the issue?
Thank you in advance, I will be waiting for your kind answer

Hi Riccardo,
I have same issue with x2 10-n200nl. Sometimes tablet does not start and shows me a black screen with battery. AC led is always red, also with 100%.
As you say, there is no apparent logic in this procedure: sometimes does't start and AC led is red, also after housr and hours with charged connect. Then, without reason the lgiht become white and I can boot with full battery and I can use it for many days and this problem does not appear.
I try all: Hardreset with power button, bios upgrade, rewrite bios at start with power and up/down volume pressed without andy success. Battery is ok, when it start is full at 100% and does't discharge quickly ( I can use for 8h) and also the charger is ok. I have check battery with Bios and with HP windows tools and is ok.
In the last days I don't fully charge battery and seem better for now.
I hope HP can help us to fix this annoying issue! I spend a lot of time to swith on\off everytime.
Have a nice day,
Marco

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Riddle_Decipher is at your service.
As I Understand there's a charging issue within the HP Pavilion x2 10-n200nl,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have you attempted to check with an alternate adapter?
Did you follow all the steps mentioned on this thread?
If you have updated the bios from the HP website and yet the issue persists,
I recommend you reinstall the battery drivers:
Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
If the issue persists, please Contact HP to set up a hardware service:

I have the same problem.
I opened the machine and measured the battery voltage.
In spite of the blinking charge warning signal the voltage was 4.33 Volt. ( Nominal voltage is 3.8 V)
So the battery was severely overloaded.
I took a small lamp to discharge the battery.
When under about 4.0 Volt I could start up the machine.
Conclusion: the system measures the voltage and compares it to a standard value. ( e.g. 3.85 Volt)
When the difference is too much the charge warning goes up and the machine won't start.
This voltage difference useually is negative. e.g. 3.7 V
But if the difference is positive e.g 4.0 V the system thinks the battery is empty too.
I think the charging control ( overload protection) is defective.
As this is on the motherboard it is almost impossible to repair it.
The original HP charger has a nominal voltage of 5.25 V ; that is 0.25 V over the standard value.
It is loading very fast but overloading very fast too.
I use a standard USB charger now ( 5.00 Volt)
It takes a longer time to charge but the overload problems are gone.
Updating the BIOS did not solve the problem.

Yes it has a C connector.
I used a simple chrager from a telephone with USB A connetor.
In my motorhome I use a 12 V charger.
I bought a separate cable with USB C at the other end.
The charger has an open voltage of about 4.95 volt instead of the HP which has 5.25V
On the HP x 2-10 I downloaded the program Battery Mon.
It shows you the actual voltage of the battery.
When the voltage is over 4.1 volt the problems begin. When you switch on the computer with such an overloaded battery the systems says the battery is empty!!!
With the HP charger you get the overload situation within 3 hours.
But even with the simple charger you can not avoid the overloading.
In the meantime my HP x 2- 10 got more problems. ( sudden switching of and reboot)
I think about buying a new one but no HP.
