My HP Pavilion x360 (model 16-dn1010ne) won't boot properly.
It shows:
"CMOS Checksum Invalid. CMOS Reset (502). Press Enter to reboot"
However, keyboard input does not work at this screen — not even with a USB keyboard.
I already:
Removed and reinserted CMOS battery
Ran USB BIOS recovery using Win+B method (USB blinks, fan runs)
Recreated recovery USB multiple times
Tried multiple wired keyboards
Keyboard works for BIOS recovery key combos (like Win+B), but Enter still doesn't respond during CMOS reset prompt.
I believe the BIOS is partially corrupted.
Please advise if there's a full recovery method or updated BIOS flash method I can use to overwrite the corrupted BIOS using USB, or if chip-level BIOS flashing is now the only solution.

@Shafri1, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Based on the issue you're facing with your HP Pavilion x360 (14-dh1010ne / 16-dn1010ne) stuck at the "CMOS Checksum Invalid. CMOS Reset (502)" screen and the fact that keyboard input (including USB) is unresponsive at that prompt, it strongly suggests a partially corrupted BIOS.
You've already done a thorough job trying the standard recovery steps. Here's a more advanced and structured approach to resolve this:
Step-by-Step Recovery Plan
Confirm BIOS Recovery USB Creation
Ensure you're using the correct BIOS file and method:
- Go to the official HP BIOS download page for your model: Official HP® Support
- Download the latest BIOS update (usually an .exe file).
- Run the .exe on a working Windows PC and choose "Create Recovery USB" when prompted.
- Use a FAT32-formatted USB drive (8–16 GB recommended).
Perform BIOS Recovery Again (Win + B Method)
- Insert the recovery USB.
- Hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
- Release the Power button but keep holding Win + B until the screen lights up or you hear beeps.
- If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear and reflash the BIOS.
If the screen stays black but the fan and USB light are active, let it run for 5–10 minutes, it may be flashing silently.
If BIOS Recovery Fails Again
3. Try Crisis BIOS Recovery (Advanced)
Some HP models support a crisis recovery mode:
- Rename the BIOS file to HPBIOS.BIN or BIOS.BIN and place it in the root of the USB.
- Retry the Win + B or Win + V method.
If All Else Fails: Chip-Level Flashing
If:
- USB BIOS recovery doesn’t complete,
- Keyboard input is completely locked at the CMOS screen,
- And the system doesn’t progress past POST,
