Product: Example: Pavillion 14-ce0002sa 14''

My daughter bought the above laptop for use on her nursing degree only 15 months ago.. The laptop keeps powering down without warning and costing £499 from Currys PC World, is a good percentage of her student loan. She has been advised a new motherboard is required. Is this typical of this HP product? Surely this product should last longer than 15 months. Is this a known fault or has she just been sold a poor product? Did PC world recommended the wrong product?
