Windows 10
Ok so about a year ago my laptop began running unbearably slow. I assumed it was getting wore out, as I do a lot of gaming on it and it runs hot a lot, so I wiped it and just started over. Now at first windows loaded (albeit slowly), but now after it boots up it either gets stuck on a black screen with the F12 key and SOMETIMES the caps lock key lit up or it continuously loads the windows logo and never goes anywhere. I know that its likely I'll have to replace a part in it but I don't know what. Or maybe there is a solution besides that! Forums online point me to 2 possible conclusions: motherboard or hard drive replacements. Anyway, if anyone can give me a definite diagnosis or solution that'd be helpful.
ALSO.... I have done all versions of reset possible and the diagnostic tests pass, so please don't tell me that. I am also 100% certain that it isn't a screen issue. I'm good to give any additional info.

It is nearly impossible to give a definitive diagnosis of an issue like that. With that out of the way-an aging hard drive will get slower over time and eventually stop booting. You said it passed Diagnostics testing but that is not always accurate in my experiences.
Possibility ,of course, it could be the motherboard -especially with running games a lot and getting hot. But least expensive and easiest option to try is hard drive and the first step I would take.

I'm not exactly going to tag this as a solution because I would at least like to see if anyone else has any experience with anything similar but can you give me a link or something to where I can but a replacement HDD?

I usually order from Newegg or Tigerdirect. Western Digital Black is a good hdd:
