Hello - I would be extremely grateful if someone coudl hep me, please!!

I haven't used this particular laptop for years, but I desperately need to get back on it to retrieve some files.

The laptop seems to work fine, but when I've turned it on a black screen appears with Enter Password in blue - it doesn't look like the normal Windows page that I can remember. It looks as though it's in some sort of safe mode or something.

I don't know what this password is. If I enter it incorrectly too many times it says System Disabled [05745]

Can anyone please advise?

Thanks so much

You're very welcome.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to try this unlock passcode for the generic Phoenix BIOS.

Hi:

See if entering this unlock passcode allows you to access the PC...

Unfortunately no one here can help you get by the Windows password.

You might want to try a system recovery and see if that will work without knowing the password.

You will lose all data currently on the hard drive if you are able to reset the PC to its factory specs.

See this guide for the various methods to perform a system recovery.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

That is great news that you were able to get into Windows.
