Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Every time I try to boot, the "Recovery Manager" comes up.   I have told it to recover the factory settings, and then have tried to reboot, but I always get the Recovery Manager.

Looks like the Recovery Partition might be corrupted

 

I suggest you run a System Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

 

- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click System Tests, then click Extensive Test.
 

If all the Tests pass, please contact HP Support to order the Recovery Media and perform the System Recovery
