While trying to do a factroy reset on OS level, HP recovery Manager fails.

In the logs you find hints that the unsuccessful attempt is related due to McAfee MLS pre-installation.

Recovery Manager reboots but stops at the same problem over and over.

Found the solution by myself sharing it here because in other post where people have the same issue no real solution is offered. Only recommendations to do a clean reinstall with MS Media Creation Tool, which means native install without the original additional packages and drivers can be found.

The real root cause is related to the McAfee installation routine which seems not to work after the year 2018.

See McAfee KB - Unable to reset your Windows 10 PC using your Recovery Media (TS102963)

Believe it or not, if you change your BIOS date back to year 2018 the HP Recovery Manager runs fine, no issues, everything as expected!

Hope that helps others as well.
