HP Notebook - 14-dk0017na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there, is there a way to download recovery software but with an older build of windows (specifically 1909)?

v1909 originally came with my laptop (HP Notebook - 14-dk0017na) back in April 2020. I'm attempting to factory reset my laptop now, and using HP Cloud Recovery it seems to automatically make a recovery image with Windows 10 v20H2, which is causing some bugs 🙁 Thanks is advance!

Hi:

I have used the HP cloud recovery tool on a few different notebooks and it always installed the original operating system that came with the notebook.

So unless HP updated the image, you should be getting v1909.

If you want to clean install v1909, here is a link to the W10 64 bit English International ISO file.

https://software-download.microsoft.com/pr/Win10_1909_EnglishInternational_x64.iso?t=0ec057f8-b66f-4...

The link will be good for 24 hours from the time of this reply.

You can use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive so that it is bootable, or you can use a different utility such as Rufus.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Thanks for your quick response!

Indeed, it seems HP cloud recovery pulls the latest windows build and creates a recovery image with that. I reset my laptop last year and cloud recovery created an image back then with v2004.

Thanks for the link also. I would first like to create an original recovery image with drivers/software from HP pre loaded like out of box last year (if still possible). Because i suspect one of the updated drivers on the website is causing some trouble.

You're very welcome.

If the cloud recovery tool is making a bootable USB recovery drive with v20H2, unfortunately I wouldn't have any idea where you would be able to get the one that originally came with your notebook.
