And where can I get the latest software? At the support site they are all pretty old (like them, I've installed) and the Support Assistant shows NO Updates or newer versions of the HP software. So I need the latest stable versions of the HP-Framework, because we use (and need) the HP Connection Manager.

The latest version of Support Assistant is 8.0 which may include a later version of Software Framework.

I found a later version of Software Framework than yours; there may be later.

Please note that a recent report claimed security vulnerabilties in products like Support Assistant

Like most errors in the Windows logs, these can be safely ignored.

Thank You a lot!
The Support Assistant told me, it was the latest one 😞
No I downloaded the one You described an installed it.
It was also installed a new framework, like You presumed.
Now it is: HP Support Assistant 8.2.8.25
Patch 8.2.9.0
Framework 12.4.18.7
Configfiles: 8.0.6056.1327
But the Event 5 of HpCasl during the boot already occurs

Hi All,
Just came across this again whilst searching for some other info on the forum , so thought I'd update it for anyone getting here and wondering if things ever were resolved.
I am still using the 8740w as I write this , HP never really managed to fix these issues , I was given a special updated Bios to try and HP updated Software packages but it would still not work , I still got errors , even on a fresh image with no Windows updates and only HP software.
Looking at the logs from BIOS updates etc it always had errors regarding not updating the Battery info correctly , as there is a Circuit board inside the battery pack , HP tried a new Motherboard and a new Battery , neither corrected the issue.
@Sami I did reply to this yesterday , however it was longer and more in depth regards what I found , HP in its wisdom have decided to remove my post , by simply deleting it with no notice to me whatso ever ?? Don't think they liked what I said or I touched a raw nerve 😞
So here is the " Politically Correct " answer for the ADMINS of this forum .
So it looks like it is due to the software/firmware on the Battery Pack and BIOS not talking to each other correctly , in my case ,although HPPA did work eventually it was this that caused the errors and by doing a fresh build , from HP CD all I missed off was HPPA and suddenly errors were gone.
This is HP's issue with the 3rd party manufacturer that makes the battery internals and Insyde that do the BIOS files or even the Motherboard manufacturer , however HP seem to have issues modifying these files now the system is built , or simply can't be bothered to, after all they have your money now .
Or is it because it has RSA BIOS and it costs too much to re write/correct the issue and then get it re RSA'd again ?
Wonder if this will get deleted aswell ?
Dave.
