HP EliteBook 840 G5 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've ordered a refurbished Elitebook 840 G5 with Windows 10 from Amazon (Joy Systems Inc). I expect there will be no HP specific software installed. When asked, they replied if it's not part of Windows Update it won't be installed.

I plan to do Windows update, then reboot and F10 and do BIOS update, then start installing HP software such as HP Support Assistant, HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, HP Power Manager, HP Software Framework, HP Hotkeys driver, etc.

My first question is, is there a list of all this software somewhere?

Second question, is there a sequence that should be followed for best results?

Hello,

Some important software might get automatically installed on your computer via Windows mechanisms.

List of all apps and drivers can be found on the product's download webpage here >> https://support.hp.com/bg-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-840-g5-notebook-pc/18491271

To make it easy/easier, you can consider using HP Image Assistant, too to help you deploy drivers/apps/updates >> https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HPIA.html

Don't forget to update your BIOS, too
