My laptop won’t turn on, the power light on the power key turns on and then turn off itself in few seconds. The laptop is charging when I put the power cable in. I tried using different power cable and no luck. The screen is blank and the fans are not turning on. I tried holding the power key for 30 seconds and tried other troubleshooting but no luck. This laptop is only less than a year old and I don’t use laptop often too. Surprised to see 1 year old laptop not very often use doesn’t turn

Hi @laptoptro101,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps. Here are a few more things you can try.
Check Power Adapter and Connections:
- Ensure the power adapter is firmly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
- Try using a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.
Reset Power:
- Disconnect the power adapter from the laptop.
- Remove the battery, if possible (some models have non-removable batteries).
- Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery (if removable) and the power adapter, then try turning on the laptop.
External Monitor Check:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI cable (if available).
- Power on the external monitor and then the laptop. Sometimes, the laptop screen may be the issue rather than the entire system.
BIOS Reset:
- If the laptop has a reset hole for the BIOS, use a paperclip to gently press into the hole to reset the BIOS settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
