Hi @Anil81,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
If your HP Spectre x360 laptop's SSD is not being recognized, you can attempt the following steps to recover your data:
Step 1: Basic Troubleshooting
Restart the System:
- Restart the laptop and access the BIOS/UEFI (press F10 during boot).
- Check if the SSD is detected in the BIOS.
Check Connections:
- If possible, open the back panel of the laptop and ensure the SSD is securely connected to its slot. (Only attempt this if you're comfortable and it does not void your warranty.)
Try a Different System:
- Remove the SSD and connect it to another computer using an M.2 SSD enclosure or adapter. This will help determine if the SSD is functional.
Step 2: Boot from an External Drive
Create a Bootable USB:
- Use another computer to create a bootable USB drive with Windows or Linux.
- Boot the Spectre x360 from the USB and see if the SSD is accessible via the external OS.
Use Recovery Tools:
- If the SSD is partially recognized, tools like Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, or TestDisk may help recover data.
Step 3: Advanced Recovery
Check Disk in Disk Management (Windows):
- If the SSD is recognized but inaccessible, connect it to another Windows system, open Disk Management, and see if it appears as unallocated space.
Professional Data Recovery:
- If the SSD is not recognized at all, consult a professional data recovery service. Avoid further attempts to write to the drive, as this may overwrite data.
