It sounds like your HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop might be experiencing a power management or hardware-related issue.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
Step 1: Check Power Settings
- Open Control Panel > Power Options.
- Select your active power plan and click Change plan settings.
- Ensure settings for "Plugged in" and "Battery" modes are configured to prevent shutdowns.
Step 2: Update BIOS and Drivers
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest BIOS and driver updates for your laptop model.
- Install the updates and restart your laptop.
Step 3: Run Battery Diagnostics
- Use the HP Hardware Diagnostics tool to test your battery.
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly during startup to access diagnostics.
- Select Battery Test and follow the instructions.
Step 4: Check Event Viewer
- Open Event Viewer by searching for it in the Start menu.
- Look for Kernel-Power events under Windows Logs > System to identify shutdown causes.
Step 5: Reset Power Management
- Turn off the laptop and unplug it.
- Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
