Win10 Version 1909.
I'm yet again experiencing the "not charging" syndrome. I can run fine from the power adapter, but it does not charge the battery.
The orange light indicating normal charging comes on for a few seconds after connecting the power supply. But it always goes off before charging the battery.
Win10 battery indicator says "0% available (plugged in).
This is my third time around with this same issue. I replaced the battery two years ago at HPs suggestion and all was well for about a year. The same issue appeared again. The adapter was replaced due to the "wobbly" USB-C connection being intermittent. Although I now suspect replacing the adapter was unrelated, only coincidental, the laptop began charging properly and worked flawlessly until last week. I replaced the battery (direct from HP) again from the HP diagnostics suggestion that the battery was defective, not suspecting the charging issue had returned. I also have two chargers, one for travel, the other in my home setup. Both show the same symptom.
I'm really struggling with this one as I've owned HP business laptops since the Compaq days and never had issues with any of them.
So I've tried all the fixes provided by others on this forum including the cap drain sequence of removing the power and pressing the power on button for 20-30 seconds. I opened the bottom and disconnected the battery for 30 seconds just to be certain the instructions were complete and proper. I also deleted the adapter entries from device manager "batteries".
The error code from the BIOS diagnostics is "GK54RA-9KLAAL-MFPUQJ-C0CR03" which I can't seem to locate but remember from previous troubleshooting that it indicates a faulty batter. I think it absurd that HP doesn't use the proper fonts for their error codes. In this case the "O's" could be text Os or the number zero. I've tried all iterations and nothing comes up.
None of the "fixes" worked for me. Does anyone have any further suggestions?
I think this is the final straw. I need to put this one on Ebay for parts and be done with it. The Lenova X1 Carbon series is certainly comparable to the latest Spectre in raw power and performance, but I lose an inch of screen real estate. And they are also still stuck in the plain old (and ugly) black drab. But what's the use of having a great looking laptop if I'm always tethered to a power cord?...May as well go back to a desktop.
I do hope someone has discovered a new method of correcting this issue.
THX for reading,
Gary

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
What is the product number of your computer?
Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.
