Spectre X360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On the 30th of March 2019, I bought an HP Spectre x360 15 Convertible laptop and very shortly after that began to notice the malfunctions.

First, I noticed the heat. In the beginning, I used it sparingly as all my files were in my previous laptop so I worked mostly from there. However, when I started to work on my assignments with the new laptop, it would heat up to such an extent that it would nearly burn my skin to the touch, with the fancy metallic exterior only exacerbating the issue. And even though the fans sound like airplane engines during such time, they are doing less in terms of cooling than if I were to be blowing gently at the laptop myself. Furthermore, it has the tendency to spontaneously turn on by itself, sometimes even when I'm carrying it around in my bag, turning it into a furnace.

Second, there are the blue screen error which appear suddenly and at random while I am using the laptop. Then at other times the screen just simply freezes up, forcing me to turn off the device and lose all my work.

Lastly, although Bang & Olufsen have a remarkable reputation for sound quality, I have had very little chance of hearing it myself as the speakers seem to decide when and when not to function without any intervention from me. However, since the USB port does not work either, I was not able to transfer my favorite music and experiment further.

There are many other unacceptable issues with the laptop. However, I believe the above examples sufficiently illustrate the issue.

Despite paying a premium price, I have received a sub-standard laptop at best. I am certain that a properly functioning laptop of the same model would not come with such issues. Therefore, the problems reflect a manufacturing error and, according to the three-year warrantee that came with the laptop, a replacement should be provided.

Any ideas?

I am glad to have read your post before my purchase of Spectre series that I planned. Regarding noise of the cooling fan I believe it is a normal issue with HP machines. even mine current HP laptop generates huge noise and after switching it off it feels boarding off a plane. I wish your laptop gets fixed by the HP service department, while it is in warranty. please let us know your experience with the service center as well. your post  was very helpful.
