HP Spectre X360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Spectre X360, model 13-4193nr, Product N1R87UA##ABA won't charge when plugged in. This happened suddenly.

I ran the diagnostics and checked for any needed updates. The computer & drivers are up to date. The HP diagnostics I ran said the battery was good and the charger was bad. I got a new charger that didn't fix the problem. When the battery is removed, and plugged in with the battery charger/adapter, the computer runs. When a new HP battery is installed, the battery will not charge. It appears the motherboard is bad... something that has been reported many times in this community.

Any suggestions/recommendations? This has been a great laptop until this issue suddenly appeared.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged correctly.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Thank you for your suggestion. When I go to the HP support site using the link you provided, it shows that I have the latest BIOS and the chipset driver already installed.  Any other suggestions?

Looking underthe chipset drivers, I have this installed:

Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver (Windows 10 v1803),11.7.0.1057 Rev.B

My operating system is Windows 10 v 10.0.19042 Build 19042

My Bios version is American Megatrends f.54,12/27/2019
