I was using a non-administrative account on my laptop where I used the fingerprint to login and it was working fine, until I deleted that account and switched to the administrator account after backing up my files. Here the fingerprint pop up box has no reaction in the setup box in windows hello. Don't know if it's a software or hardware problem. I've tried all solutions on google, youtube and hp support assistant but it still doesn't configure. Please solve this one, thanks!

Hi@Burhanuddin_, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the fingerprint scanner is not working on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

  • What is the product number for your computer?
  • When was the last time the fingerprint scanner was working fine?

Meanwhile, I recommend you uninstall the fingerprint scanner driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi, @Praveenbv. I had tried your solution in the past but to no avail. The fingerprint stopped registering around a week ago when I did changes to my accounts as said before. Can it be because my account may have some issues?

My product number: 7PS48UAR#ABA

By the way, these are biometric devices drivers installed in my laptop (I deleted them and re-installed but nothing worked, even searched the net for the latest versions but these seem to be the latest).
