HP Spectre x360 - 15t-ap000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have gone to the support page and loaded everything from the drivers section of HP Spectrex360 but it still continues to show 4 "HID PCI Minidriver ISS" devices under USB that have an exclamation mark on them. They all have hardware IDs of {DEA5AE2A-D1FD-438A-A091-CBD484788436}\vid_8086&PID_0001 with the ending PID_ numbers being 0001x2 0002 and 8002. With an error of Device is unable to start and nothing viewable in the event logs. Thoughts on how to find these devices and get them started?

Hi @Bolthar

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the driver issue.

Let's try these steps to update the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Also, try updating the BIOS. Refer to this document for steps - HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)

Test the hardware using these steps - HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I am always updated on WIndows Update but I did it again. No change and it said Iwas already  up to date. I did the other no change the drivers for these 4 are still showing. My BIO had ben updated to the latest when I reloaded Windows 10 a couple months ago and there is no further BIOS update.

@Bolthar I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

Try the steps recommended below.

Start > Search bar > Type cmd (right click run as admin to execute Elevated CMD)

Elevated CMD should now be opened, type the following:

chkdsk x: /r

x implies your drive letter, so if your hard drive in question is letter c, it would be:

chkdsk c: /r

Restart system and let chkdsk run.

    Open the "Computer" window
Right-click on the drive in question
    Select the "Tools" tab
    In the Error-checking area, click <Check Now>.

Keep us posted,

Just did both. The one through windows/tools took about 10 minutes and said no errors found. The other would not scan live. I said Y to scan at reboot. It scanned and said it found  no errors.

@Bolthar In that case, could you share an image of the device manager, I need to know exactly where the exclamation mark is, also, when was the last time it worked without these issues? have you attempted a system restore? click here to attempt the same, if you haven't.

HID PCI Minidriver for ISS. It has 4 of them. These were not there before I did the restore, now it is. Nothing else is connected to my PC and it is there no matter where I go.

@Bolthar I suggest you remove all the drivers from the device manager, delete them from the device manager, once after the other, restart the device when done and let me know how that pans out, good luck!

Uninstalled them and then rebooted and they show up back in there.

@Bolthar In that case, I suggest you create a new user account and check if that helps, if this is a corrupted user profile the new account should fix the issue: click here for details,

If that doesn't work, we may need to reset windows, ensure you backup all your personal files into an external storage device before you get start, for more details: click here

And keep me posted.
