Touchpad not working properly - Issue with the touchpad functionality on my device. The problem arises frequently upon system startup or restart, where the touchpad becomes unresponsive or freezes entirely.
Here is a summary of the troubleshooting steps I have undertaken thus far:
- Ensured that Windows OS is updated to the latest version, specifically version 23H2 with OS Build - 22631.3593.
- Attempted a complete PC reset.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the touchpad driver.
Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Upon further investigation, I noted that the touchpad driver available on the HP Driver portal only supports Windows versions 21H2 and 22H2, which do not align with my current version, 23H2.
Additionally, after reinstalling the touchpad driver, the Windows OS automatically updates the driver, leading to the recurrence of the issue.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter promptly. Please advise on any further steps I can take or if there are alternative touchpad drivers compatible with Windows version 23H2.
Currently, I have paused the windows update due to this issue.

If the touchpad driver works with the HP drivers from your notebook's support page, and Windows update installs a driver that causes the touchpad not to work, do this:
Install the working touchpad driver.
Download and unzip and immediately run the Microsoft Hide Windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below.
The utility will run and find the update that Windows update wants to install.
Check the box to hide the update.
The utility will run and report the problem is 'Fixed.'
Restart the PC and the problem should be resolved.
If none of the touchpad drivers work on W11 23H2, then I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.
