Microsoft Windows 11

My bluetooth disappears every time I close the lid. I can only bring it back with a hard shut down. Restart or normal shutdown does not work. Many people seem to have this problem but I cannot find a permanent solution.  I have researched online, deleted and reinstalled drivers, nothing helps.  When I close the lid or get the mouse too far away from the laptop, the bluetooth literally disappears.  When you go into devices there is no longer a toggle button to turn bluetooth on and off, and it disappears from device manager (unless you view hidden).  I found the hard shut down tip online and it is the only thing that works, holding the power button down until the machine shuts down.  And it works 100% of the time, the bluetooth always comes back.  But it is a pain and I am concerned that this is bad for my laptop.  Also - this happened when the machine had it's original Windows 10 operating system, and it continues to happen now that I have upgraded to Windows 11.  And it happens with any bluetooth mouse, Anker, Logi, etc - so it is not the mouse. This is why I think it is an HP issue.  Can someone please help?? Thanks.

Your machine has  Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 802.11b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 5 Combo (Gigabit Wi-Fi® speed). Please try

  • Open Device Manager,
  • Expand Bluetooth device,
  • Right Intel BT and select Properties,
  • Go to Power Managemnt tab
  • Untick

                         bt sleep.png

  • Click Apply/Ok to get out

Thank you!  I think this works, I will let you know if it happens again.  Why in the world would it default to that setting, and how would the average person ever find this solution?  Thanks again.

One other thing, the check box is to allow the computer to "turn off" this device, i.e. bluetooth.  But when this box is checked, it does not "turn off" the bluetooth. If it was simply turned off, you could go into settings and pull up bluetooth and slide the toggle to the "On" position.  The toggle disappears altogether, and there is no way to turn it back on.  This can't be what they meant to happen?  And whose fault is this?  Microsoft/Windows, or Intel?  I am just really surprised this has not been fixed, it has been a major problem for me.  Thanks.
