I'm pretty sure my SSD drive is dead. I did manage to get data files copied with a data recovery program. When I tried PC Recovery to reinstall windows 10...I get error saying it cannot be completed. I am assuming the drive is dead. Now I cannot get past the "retry" screen. So would anyone have a recommendation for a replacement 512 SSD drive?
Installed in x360 computer...... thanks
512-GB, 2280, peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe)-3×4, non-volatile memory express (NVMe), super speed (SS) solid-state drive with triple-level cell (TLC)

Th HP 950 is a bit faster than the Samsung 980. Also a bit more expensive.
I guess you will have to decide what to do.
You can play it safe with the original part (but it is a slight hassle to configure with the Optane memory--however, I did give you the instructions to configure), or just go with a plain NVMe SSD, install W10 with no muss, no fuss, and for less money.

Hi:
According to the parts list your notebook has one of those combination NVME SSD's + Intel Optane memory.
Those are fairly hard to come by, and pretty expensive. I could only find the part on eBay.

What I recommend you do is to go into the BIOS and disable the Intel Optane setting (if your notebook's BIOS has such a setting), and buy a standard NVMe SSD.
See the link below for how to disable the Intel Optane memory setting in the BIOS, if applicable (next to the last subject on the page).

I think this PCIe 3.0 x 4 NVMe SSD would be a good choice...

Not good. LOL I found these two HP SSD's on Amazon.....But the Samsung link you sent looks good too. I think I have already disabled Optane memory. Guess I will have to make a decision about which one to try. Thanks I am really dumb about SSD drives. This computer x360 is my first experience.
This one is faster...
