I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting BCD error after a BIOS update.
I recommend follow the below steps and check if it helps.
1) Press and hold the Power Button until the computer is powered off completely. Then turn on the computer Immediately start tapping the "ESC" key until "ESC... Pausing Startup" is displayed in the lower-left corner and/or the "Startup Menu" is displayed.
2) Then press "F1" to go to the recovery options.
3) Choose your keyboard layout.
4) Under "Choose an option", select "Troubleshoot."
5) Under "Troubleshoot", select "Advanced options."
6) Under "Advanced options", select "Automatic Repair."
7) Choose your "target Operating System" to begin the automatic repair.
If "Automatic Repair" doesn't fix the issue, under "Troubleshoot", you can try "Reset your PC", and check.

Thanks for the help
But contacted HP support and they were able to diagnose the problem as the steps mentioned didn't really work
A total reset was required for my issue, as the BIOS was corrupted.
Thank you once again for the help.
