HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f0000 (39H22AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

My Spectre x360 notebook fails to boot after a recent system update. I get a black screen with the HP logo and a rotating circle that doesn't ever time out.

After looping the extensive diagnostics for 24hrs, there appears to be no hardware errors.

I've tried to use the F11 System Recovery option with no luck.

- black screen, HP logo, rotating circle, "Please wait"

- after about 5 minutes I get a blue screen with the following:

"Your computer ran into a problem"

    "We'll reboot for you"

A QR code is displayed and the following stop code:  DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG

- the system then restarts and returns to the eternal black screen

Next I created a cloud recovery usb stick, adjusted to bios to boot from USB first, and selected the USB option from the F9 boot menu.

- The system doesn't seem to boot from the USB stick. I get the black screen, HP logo, rotating circle

- The USB stick starts to boot on other computers, but states that it can't be used on the other computers, so it appears that the USB Cloud recovery process was completed properly.

Not sure how to proceed from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there anyone that can provide any insight on this issue?

I hate to completely reinstall if there is another option.

Thanks

Recommended Precautions for Running a System Recovery:

•           Back up your personal data (All files in the system will be erased during the system recovery)

•           Only have your power cord, keyboard, mouse, and monitor (in case of desktop) and only power cord (in case of notebooks) attached during the system recovery. (If other devices (printers, cameras, Ethernet cable for internet connection, audio speakers’ cable, and dual display setup) are connected during the system recovery, the system recovery process may stop and fail)
