HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I purchased a HP Spectre x360 in early January 2016. Spent a fortune on it but it was worth it. I LOVE the computer and have been a loyal HP owner & user since the early 90's when my dad brought home our first HP computer.

My notebook yesterday turned off suddenly while writing a letter (never had a single issue with the computer.) It would not turn on or charge.  No charging light, no nothing. I know it is not the power cord as we use it for another HP computer. I have read forum after forum that the 2015/2016 HP Spectre x360 have been known for faulty/defective motherboards . I have tried the HP Guided Trouble Shooter through all its suggestions, but it would not start.  I also tried a BIOS hard reset, but it would not start. I don't care about the files on the computer as I back-up all important files - just looking to get my computer to start.

Did anyone have any luck with HP on this motherboard issue? Can anyone from the HP support team please contact me? I tried going to the HP support website but it times out while loading on www.hp.com/contacthp

Best,

Krazy Toad,

Thank you for responding. Appreciate your views. I have my laptop (and serial #) saved on my HP profile account. Unfortunately, after step 4 you outlined, I am unable to find "5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences" OR "6) Fill the web-form and proceed further." The only two options after 4) selecting United States from the drop down menu are for me to click two buttons: Visit the HP Community or Find Nearest HP Service Center.

Given you mention the chat or phone option, could a HP representative call me or perhaps private message me so we can begin the process of filling the web-form and proceeding further to fix the defective HP motherboard?

Thank you so much. Best.
