Hi @nt1911pb,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

It sounds like the BIOS firmware was corrupted or overwritten during the custom logo attempt; since this is a Special Edition model, you need the specific "SoftPaq" file from HP to restore the original Star Wars theme and system functionality.

Identify the Correct BIOS Version

  • Locate the Serial Number (S/N) and Product Number (P/N) on the bottom of your laptop.
  • Navigate to the HP Software and Driver Downloads website on a working computer.
  • Enter your product number to ensure you get the exact BIOS image for the 15-an000nf motherboard.
  • Download the latest BIOS update file (usually an .exe) listed under the "BIOS" category.

Create a BIOS Recovery USB Flash Drive

  • Insert a blank USB flash drive into your working computer.
  • Run the downloaded BIOS .exe file and select "Create Recovery USB Flash Drive" when prompted.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to format the drive and copy the necessary recovery files.
  • Label the drive "BIOS Recovery" and safely eject it from the computer.

Perform the Emergency BIOS Recovery

  • Insert the recovery USB drive into the turned-off Star Wars laptop.
  • Press and hold the Windows key and the B key (or V key) simultaneously.
  • Press the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds while continuing to hold the Windows and B keys.
  • Release all keys when you hear a beep or see the BIOS update screen appear, then follow the prompts to re-flash the original firmware.

You can download the official firmware directly from the HP Star Wars Special Edition - 15-an000nf Software and Drivers page.

When you try to power on the laptop now, does the screen remain completely black, or does it display a CMOS checksum error?

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
