HP Stream 11
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

a few days ago I switched on HP Stream 11 and got message Hard Disk (3F0) message.  I tried entering the bios but it is asking for a password.  This is strange as I have never put a password on the bios.

I now have a system disabled message - 68244558

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Again thank you ever so much for your help.  There was an 'i' to the far left of the box which I did not notice until you mentioned it.

Looks like the motherboard will need replacing as the new code did not work unfortunately.

I will weigh up the costs as to whether I have the motherboard replaced or go down a second hand netbook route.

I must say thank you again for your help, it is very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Hi:

Restart the PC, and enter this unlock passcode...

While I am not a PC repair tech by trade or training, the  Hard Disk (3F0) message normally means the hard drive has died and needs to be replaced.

The problem is, I don't believe the hard drive can be replaced in that model without replacing the entire motherboard.

Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

Unfortunately this did not work for me.

You're very welcome, Andrew.

If there is a small letter 'i' in front of the disabled code, then the motherboard would have to be replaced to clear that code.

Or you can try entering the halt code in the box at the link below and see if you get a different code that works.
