I have had an issue with my Stream 11 for many, many months. The device has not got enough memory to install the latest version of windows 10. I have tried a number of things, disc clean up and removed all unnecessary files, attached external memory and clean install from USB - all fail because there is not enough memory.
There are a number of old windows files that would increase space but won't delete.
Quite frankly I am sick of this. Every time I boot it up, it takes ages to work trying to install the updates.
I'm also very annoyed that there appears to be no direct way to contact HP to get into a complaints procedure.
As there is nothing really saved on the hard drive I don't mind at all a clean install, but nothing I have tried on advice from other forums has worked and I'm running out of ideas.
I've noticed forums saying HP has sold this device where the memory is clearly inadequate to run windows, and it is - only for HP to blame Microsoft. Dear HP, let me tell you that my mobile phone has less memory but still has many GB of spare space to operate perfectly well.
Please help!!!!!!

Hi:
A clean install from a bootable USB drive created with the Microsoft media creation tool should have worked.
Boot from the installation media and when you get to the part that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.
Click Next and W10 should install.
I have a Stream notebook, but fortunately mine has a 64 GB eMMC drive.
I've clean installed W10 on it twice before.
I don't know how you get on with just a 32 GB drive in some of those Stream notebooks.
When you run the disk cleanup utility, if you click on the Cleanup system files box on the lower left side of the window, it will allow you to delete more files.
I also use the free Wise disk cleaner software which helps a lot. I run it once a week along with the Windows disk cleanup utility.

HP will not allow us to provide phone numbers for customer support anymore due to the proliferation of spam/scam numbers posted in the past.
I used to post the link to the HP phone support website in the UK but they won't even let me do that anymore.
The only link I know of where you can e-mail HP is below...Contact the HP Executive Team.
