HP stream 11-r050sa

A few months ago, my HP Stream attempted a windows upgrade and got stuck in a loop. After leaving it to its own devices for several days, I tried various things I found online but nothing worked. Now I can’t remember what I tried. I’m just getting “Undoing changes made to your computer” cycling repeatedly. Hitting F11 repeatedly does nothing. Switching it on and off repeatedly does nothing. I did manage to get into recovery mode months ago but couldn’t fix it and now I can’t remember how. I don’t have access to another PC, I’m out of warranty, I don’t have a copy of windows 10. I have zero techie knowledge. Help?

I wish I had good news for you but I do not.

Your model PC only has a very small "disk drive" -- 32GB -- and that is so small that Windows Updates often fail, and when they do, they will leave your PC in a corrupted state, from which there is no simple recovery.

Your only real recourse at this point is to do a complete reset and that will erase everything on the laptop.  If you take this to a laptop service facility, they can do that for you -- but they will probably use the wrong media to do it.

What you need to do is create the right media for them, and for that you need a 32GB USB stick and access to another working PC to create that -- but I see you state you don't have that.  I will provide a link to the HP Cloud Recovery information below, but to fix this, you need to enlist the help of someone that can make this media for you.

If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.

The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
