HP Stream 11

Hi,

 

My HP stream laptop won’t switch on at all. I’ve tried to do the reset but that didn’t work. The caps lock button flashes but nothing else is happening. I bought the laptop in July 2020 so is still relatively new.

 

Does anyone have any other solutions I can try?

I am sorry about your issue. 

  • Note that HP Stream 11 is relatively old model and I suspect you may have purchased it last year but it could have been a second hand device, or if new, it may have been manufactured long time ago. Can you provide more details about this ?
  • Please, provide some background information - What happened before this issue started ?

 

  • HP has created an official article about such issues you face now. This blinking / these flashes / it is like a Morse Code - It is very important to identify exactly how it blinks, identify the pattern. Post back details how exactly and how often it blinks.
    If possible, capture a video showing the issue, upload it on a 3rd party website/platform and post it back here.

The computer is 

HP - Stream 11-ak0500 11.6" Laptop - Intel® Celeron™, 32 GB eMMC, Pink

I purchased this from new at Curry’s PC World. 

It was shut down properly at the weekend and has not come back on since. I got it on by holding down power, esc and f10 as was described on another website. Closed it down a couple of times to test it worked okay which it did and now it won’t come on again. 

 

The caps lock flashes are 5 slow and a break of 2 seconds before a quick 3 flashes and it does this on repeat.

  • Based on your description and on this article, this is a motherboard/systemboard problem.
  • The PC will need to be repaired/serviced.
