I have had a problem with my HP laptop for a while now, I keep having little bursts of trying to fix it, but haven't managed to find a solution yet so thought i would ask here. Annoyingly it was probably still under warranty when this problem first occurred.

The issue is that my keyboard and trackpad do not work on start up. After a while they will start to work, either after i have logged in using the touch screen, or while still on the log in page. They can start to work after 30 seconds or 2 hours, there doesn't seem to be a specific time frame for when they start to work again. I found on one forum someone suggested spinning the laptop around so it switches from keyboard to touchscreen and back again and he found that his keyboard would then work again when it is upright. This occasionally works but not straight away - it can take a few turns or not work at all.

I have uninstalled both keyboards and rebooted, i have tried to update drivers and bios but it have told me i don't need to, all of the troubleshooting i have done has said there are no problems. I tried to restore the laptop to factory but this failed (i assume because there is just no space on these laptops at all). However after a lot of trouble i have managed to update it to the latest windows 10 1903 update, and have also changed where the laptop puts its temporary files so that it shouldn't struggle to update in the future.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. I am very disappointed with the HP support offered, it is difficult to find a phone number for them and they don't offer any free advice, which is annoying when I believe it is their updates and processes that have caused the issue and not anything i have done to the laptop.

@Smorral Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the HP Stream x360 Keyboard and Trackpad won't work on startup.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

As you have stated that you have already tried to reinstall the drivers and update the BIOS issue is not resolved.

I would request you follow the below steps and check.

 If you go into Device Manager>System Storage and disable Intel Integrated Sensor Solution it should fix the issue after a restart.
