Hey! If HP Support Assistant keeps timing out when opening dashboards, here are some steps that usually help:
Update the app – Always make sure HP Support Assistant is running the latest version. Updates often fix bugs and improve performance.
Check firewall/antivirus settings – Sometimes security software blocks the app from connecting properly. You might need to allow HP Support Assistant through your firewall.
Stable internet connection – A slow or unstable connection can make dashboards hang or time out. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data if possible.
Try a browser workaround – If the dashboard works fine in Chrome or Edge, you can open it there temporarily while troubleshooting the app.
Restart & clear cache – Closing the app and clearing cached data can resolve temporary loading glitches. On iOS/Windows, you can usually do this from the app settings.
Device restart – Sometimes a quick restart of your HP laptop or device can refresh network and app processes and fix the problem.
Also, we had the same issue on our website TrendusAI, but after following similar steps, it’s now fully resolved and running smoothly. You can check it out at trendusai.com.

Hi @TU27,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I’ve got you, and I want to help you gently separate the good steps from the unsafe ones in what you shared. Before I continue, I do need to let you know something important: HP Support cannot recommend or discuss external websites, third‑party brands, or promote them. (Your message included a site link. I’ll help with the HP part only.) Now let’s walk through HP‑approved, safe steps to fix HP Support Assistant timing out, not loading dashboards, or being stuck on “loading”. I’ll provide step‑by‑step Instructions.
STEP 1: Update HP Support Assistant to the latest version
This is the MOST important fix.
- Uninstall old versions:
- Press Windows + R → type: appwiz.cpl
- Uninstall:
- HP Support Assistant
- HP Support Solutions Framework
- Reinstall fresh from HP: 👉 HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
HP documentation confirms that updating the app solves dashboard loading issues.
Restart your PC after installation.
STEP 2: Check HP Support Assistant Services
Sometimes the app opens, but the dashboard won’t load because a needed service is off.
- Press Windows + R
- Type: services.msc
- Make sure these are running & set to Automatic:
- HP Support Solutions Framework Service
- Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
- Windows Update
- Function Discovery Provider Host
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
If any are stopped → right‑click → Start.
STEP 3: Clear HP Support Assistant Cache (HP‑safe method)
- Close HP Support Assistant completely
- Go to: C:\ProgramData\HP\HP Support Framework
- Delete ONLY the Temp and Cache folders
- Restart the app
A corrupted cache can cause timeouts.
STEP 4: Make sure Windows Firewall is not blocking HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant uses secure connections to HP servers.
Do this:
- Search Firewall & network protection
- Click Allow an app through the firewall
- Ensure these are allowed:
- HP Support Assistant
- HP Support Solutions Framework
This solves hang and timeout issues in many cases.
STEP 5: Run Windows System File Checker (repairs corrupted HP dependencies)
- Open Command Prompt (Admin)
- Type: sfc /scannow
- Press Enter
- When finished, restart your device
Microsoft lists this as a repair for apps not launching or timing out.
STEP 6: Try HP Support Assistant from another user profile
Sometimes the Windows profile is corrupted.
- Settings → Accounts → Other users
- Create a temporary user
- Open HP Support Assistant there
If it works under the new user → your original Windows profile needs repair.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
