Hi @surfergirl10,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues with the HP Support Chat. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Did this happen after a recent update or upgrade to Windows 10?
When was the last time it worked?
Have you tried to Uninstall and reinstall HP Support Assistant?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook:
If the issue happened recently, I would suggest here is to perform a System restore to a previous date where it was all working fine, please use this link for further assistance: HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10, 😎
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to restore factory set HP Support Assistant version through HP recovery manager, for more click here: HP PCs - Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 10)
If nothing works, I would suggest you could try to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from this link: HP PCs - Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7)
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Let me know if those steps worked for you.
If they did, that’s awesome!
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.

I need a new trackpad - I've had three IT support teams try to get my trackpad to work but all confirm I need my hardware replaced. My computer is still under warranty as it was purchased 3/27/17 but the system shows the warranty has expired b/c I believe it is using the manufactured date. Please tell me how to fix this issue and get my warranty to reflect accurately.
Thanks!

Wow things have not improved. More and more you hide contact details and make it more difficult to find a phone number and even WHERE to login. Last 3 weeks logging in has failed time after time with website not available. I got on tonight and CHAT disconnected part way through the job and will not reconnect and a new session also fails. I have good internet connection, drop outs are not this end.
This is not what I expect after selling 100's of your laptops to my clients. I have only ever had a few support calls but now it seems IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!! - get your act together HP !!!!
