HP Support asst is incorrect

Hello. I have a HP Envy 17m-bw0013dx. HP webpage picks up correct info in my account. but HP support assisant shows 17m-bw0xxx instead of the correct model number. I think this is affecting my ability to get software updates. I had to manually download all of them after I re-installed Windows 10 Home. BIOS shows 17m-bw0xxx as well. I tried the CTRL + A to "edit" but that did not work. How can I fix this? This laptop has never been sent out for service so it's nothing that could have been done by someone else.

Your machine is actually an HP Envy 17m-bw0013dx (ending with dx means sold in The US) and it is a member of the HP Envy 17m-bw0xxx (or HP Envy 17m-bw0000 ) family Therefore all manuals, drivers, software .... you have to use HP Envy 17m-bw0000 support sites.

Confusion isn't it

Yes I’m aware of that. However shouldn’t my bios have the actual model number of the PC and shouldn’t hp support assistant show my correct model number? When I reformatted and installed everything hp support assistant didn’t show any updates at all. On a freshly installed OS. Seems odd to me. Had to manually download everything.
