Hi @MINILM, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like HP Sure Recover is enabled, but your system isn’t detecting a bootable hard drive in the UEFI boot order. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and fix this issue:

Check BIOS Boot Order

  1. Turn off your laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
  3. Navigate to Boot Options.
  4. Check if the hard drive (or SSD) is listed as a UEFI boot option.
    • If not, proceed to the next step.
    • If it’s listed but not at the top, move it to the first position.

Disable HP Sure Recover (Temporary)

  1. In the BIOS Setup, go to Advanced > Secure Boot Configuration.
  2. Locate HP Sure Recover and disable it.
  3. Save and exit.

Check Storage Device Detection

  1. Re-enter BIOS Setup by pressing F10 at startup.
  2. Navigate to System Information or Storage Configuration.
  3. Check if the hard drive/SSD is detected.
    • If it’s not listed, the storage drive may be disconnected or faulty.
    • If detected, proceed to the next step.

Perform Hard Drive/SSD Reseat (If Not Detected)

  1. Power off your laptop and unplug it.
  2. Remove the back panel (if possible).
  3. Disconnect and reconnect the SSD/HDD securely.
  4. Restart and check BIOS again.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Turn on the laptop and immediately press F2.
  2. Run the System Test or Hard Drive Test.
  3. If it fails, your drive may need replacement.

Recover Bootloader (If Drive is Detected)

If the hard drive is detected but still won’t boot:

  1. Boot into Windows Recovery Mode using a USB recovery drive.
  2. Select Advanced Options > Command Prompt.
  3. Type the following and press Enter after each command:
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd

  4. Restart your PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
