Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have a old HP windows based tablet that I would like to resurrect. I no longer have the login password. Currently the tablet powers up, and was completely functional prior to it stored in a closet for several years. My question is there a way to restore it. The only option I can envision is a re-instillation of the windows operating system. If my memory is correct I believe that the windows operating system was Windows 7. I theorize that this might be possible using Microsoft Media Creation tool if one was made during the W7 era. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
