I have a Compaq 615 that I wish to restore to its factory default.
I've tried to use the F11 option at start up (after pressing escape to access the options), but the message I receive is 'The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible'.
Pressing 'enter' (to continue) brings up one choice 'Ramdisc Options' and selecting that brings me back to the original start up screen and error message.
When inside Windows 7 I can see that the disk has four partitions.
The first is 'system', the second is 'C:', the third 'D:' is named HP_Recovery, and the fourth (E:) is named HP_TOOLS.
I have downloaded the USB Recovery Flash Disk software (sp45774.exe) and installed it on C:. I also tried installing in HP_Recovery drive with the same result.
When I run it (with a 32GB USB drive in the USB port) I get the message 'The source drive does not contain the HP recovery image'.
What am I doing wrong?
