I’m writing this to share my frustrating experience with trying to extend the warranty on my HP laptop, and hopefully get the attention of someone who can actually help—or at least prevent others from going through the same.
My HP laptop was still under its original one-year warranty, which was set to expire on July 13, 2025. Being proactive, I purchased an extended warranty last month (June) through a reseller (Cyberpuerta), as recommended by HP.
However, the warranty purchase was cancelled by the vendor because they claimed they couldn’t activate it until the original warranty expired. I waited, as instructed.
Now, the original warranty has expired—and today, July 18, I was told over the phone that the extended warranty is no longer available and they can’t sell it to me anymore. Their reasoning? That I should’ve bought it last month… which I already did, but they refused to activate it at the time!
To make things worse, I was redirected to another site (abasteo.com.mx), where I couldn’t complete the process either. I tried contacting their sales rep, only to receive an automated reply saying they’re on maternity leave and unreachable.
Now I’ve been bounced between Cyberpuerta and HP. —each pointing fingers and saying the other should fix the problem. But no one is taking responsibility. I’ve emailed HP support with all the relevant documents and correspondence, but haven’t received any helpful resolution.
Even today I received an email from a new representative at Abasteo, saying they do have the product. I hadn’t seen the email right away because I was busy, but before I could even check it, Cyberpuerta called me and told me they don’t have it. It's the same company—so… do I believe them or not?
I tried to repurchase the warranty, and they cancelled it again??.
I need help. HP, please let me buy the warranty directly from you.
It feels completely unfair that I’m being punished for doing everything right, on time, only to be denied service because of internal mismanagement between vendors and HP’s partners.
I hope HP takes this seriously. All I wanted was to extend my laptop’s warranty before the original expired. I paid. I followed instructions. And now I’m left without protection.
And If you need proof, I have it.
