Greetings,

 

We have an HP DVD for reinstalling Windows 7 Professional, the number on it is 571178-DN1.

Would that disc work for reinstalling Windows 7?

The laptop already has Windows 7 but we want to do a clean install.

Hi:

 

I have the same DVD, and have used it on multiple HP business desktop and notebook PC's with W7 Pro licenses to clean install W7 Pro.

 

It will also work on any HP PC with a W8 Pro or newer product key in the BIOS that could have had downgrade rights to W7 Pro.

 

Works just fine, but you will then need to install SP1 and the rest of the updates.

 

You will not need to enter any product keys.
