HP Recommended

I bought a HP PC preinstalled with Windows. I just realised it was activated using a company key. Should I return it to the seller?

Download and install the free showkey plus app from the Microsoft Store.

 

ShowKeyPlus - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store

 

It will show an installed key and if the notebook originally came with a Windows operating system from HP and not FreeDOS, there will be a Windows OEM product key in the BIOS and the version of Windows the product key is good for.

 

If you do not see the last two lines of the report that look something like this, return the notebook to the seller.

 

OEM Key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

OEM Description: Win 10 RTM Professional OEM:DM
