Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone, there are already some threads here about BIOS failure but I couldn't find one specific to my laptop.

I just bought the laptop second hand with a fresh Windows 10Pro X64 install (I finalised the installation).

Everything was just fine, Windows updated everything it needed to, HP automatically  installed its information software and everything looked good.

Then I checked the BIOS version (01.16 I think) and I realised that it's too outdated so I decided to upgrade it by using HP Support Assistant.

And here are the problems, as soon as the laptop restarted it stuck at the famous blue screen with the message "100% complete",  "your device run in a problem etc. etc." "stop code: critical process died", "for more information visit windows.com/stopcode".IMG20231216102154.jpgIMG20231216102105.jpgIMG20231216102127.jpgIMG20231216102138.jpgIMG20231216102146.jpg

During the BIOS guided upgrade tasks I allowed the creation of 5GB storage for safety in case of a failure so the system reverted (I think) to the previous BIOS version.

I've been dealing with computers for many years and I never liked the idea of upgrading the BIOS via software and even worse by doing it from within the Windows' environment!

So what are the solutions now, is this a well known problems, is there a better BIOS version that is safe to install, was the problem caused because the upgrade was done live from Windows, should I leave it and forget about touching the BIOS?
