Microsoft Windows 11

The Hp Cloud recovery tool took a very long time to complete especially during the drivers installation. I had to wait more than two hours before it finally completed.

You have to be very patient and wait. you should let it run at night till morning to see if it worked or not.

Hi @Buster122

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

We understand that the HP Cloud Recovery process on Windows 11 can appear to progress slowly, particularly while drivers and software are being installed. We appreciate you sharing that the recovery eventually completed successfully after allowing the process sufficient time.

If HP Cloud Recovery appears to be taking longer than expected, we recommend the following:

  1. Keep the computer connected to AC power throughout the recovery process.
  2. Keep the recovery USB drive connected unless the recovery process specifically prompts you to remove it.
  3. Allow the recovery process to continue if the progress indicator is still changing or the computer continues restarting as part of recovery.
  4. Avoid manually shutting down or restarting the computer while recovery and driver installation are still progressing.
  5. After Windows 11 recovery completes and the Windows desktop loads, connect to the Internet and run Windows Update. Install the available updates and restart when prompted.
  6. Open HP Support Assistant and check for applicable HP BIOS, firmware, and driver updates for the specific computer.

Since the recovery completed successfully in this case, allowing the HP Cloud Recovery process to finish without interrupting it was the right approach. Driver installation can be one of the later stages, so it is especially important to let that stage complete before assuming the recovery has stopped.

Thank you for sharing the outcome. This is useful context for anyone using HP Cloud Recovery on a Windows 11 PC and seeing extended processing during the driver-installation stage.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
