HP is not honoring my 3 year care pack w/ accidental damage on my notebook that I purchased at the same time I bought the laptop. My laptop barely fell over the edge of my bed and landed on a blanket with a very minor hit. The screen showed lines through it. When I called to have it sent in for repair under my extended warranty they said I should back up all my files as they will be wiping the operating system. I was able to plug it into the display port on desktop computer monitor. I went in and individually saved all my files and photos onto a flash drive. I even went in and surfed the internet for a while. The computer was working just fine when I was doing this. So, it appeared to just be a cracked screen. When I got the first notification from the repair dept they said it was "most likely not economical to repair" and said the motherboard, lcd, RAM and SSD were all damaged. They couldn't clarify on what the damage was. After the case manager submitted for an explanation the repair facility came back and said the laptop was contaminated including the motherboard, LCD, RAM and SSD. I can assure you there was no virus on my computer when I sent it in and it was working perfectly with exception of the screen display. When I sent the case manager the original agreement that I had attached with my 2021 email as a receipt of the care pack w/ accidental damage she said that replacement was not included in my warranty. She was not able to provide me with an email address that I could forward my receipt and actual agreement terms where it indicates replacement. They are continuing to say it is "not economical to repair". I can assure you a cracked screen does not cost more than the $500 I purchased the laptop for. The repair department is supposed to email me with the specific damage but they have yet to do this. They have no phone number to call them directly. There is no way there was damage to all these components when I sent it in for repair and they are refusing to fix the cracked screen or offer me a replacement laptop.
