@neha007, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing issues with the keyboard backlight on your HP Laptop 15s-fq2xxx. Let's go through a few steps to help you determine whether your model supports keyboard backlighting and how to enable it if available.
Check if Your Model Supports Backlit Keyboard
Not all HP 15s-fq2xxx models come with a backlit keyboard. To verify:
- Visit the HP Product Specifications page and enter your exact model number (e.g., 15s-fq2000, 15s-fq2717TU, etc.).
- Look under the Keyboard section. If it says "Backlit keyboard", then your model supports it. If it only says "Full-size keyboard with numeric keypad", then unfortunately, it does not have backlighting.
Try Enabling the Backlight
If your model does support it:
- Press F5 or Fn + F5 (or sometimes F4) to toggle the keyboard backlight.
- On some models, you may need to enable it in the BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly to enter the Startup Menu.
- Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
- Look for Advanced > Built-in Device Options and check for a keyboard backlight setting.
Update Drivers and BIOS
Sometimes, a missing or outdated driver can cause the backlight to malfunction:
- Use HP Support Assistant or visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page to update your BIOS and keyboard drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
